Woods Struggles in Round 3, Hoffman Soars

After an inspiring and confident return to the game following his first 36 hole performance (69, 68) at the Hero World Challenge, Woods hit a wall in the third round shooting a disappointing 3-over 75. Woods only managed two birdies for the round, with his first coming on the 14th hole. This was of course expected to eventually happen as Woods seemed inevitable to have days like today after not having played for 10 months. Woods only managed to hit 7 fairways and 9 greens, with a short game that doesn’t quite seem up to scratch yet. Woods made the turn carding 40, but thankfully got it back on track with a couple of birdies on the back nine to save his score. Woods wasn’t the only player who struggled in the wind however, with only 5 players in the field shooting under par for the day.

Meanwhile Charley Hoffman extended his lead to 5 shots clear of the field (-14) after carding a solid 2-under 70, which included two bogeys and a double! Spieth and Rose sit at 9-under total for the tournament and will be forced to chase Hoffman down madly in their final round attempts.

Woods stated that he was happy with his performance in the event thus far, with many questions of his game being answered. How do you think he has performed? Has Woods still got it?
