Thousands of golf balls have been recovered from historic Green Lake located in Shaker Heights, Ohio. How many exactly you ask? It’s hard to know, but apparently the golf balls filled five 55-gallon drums! The balls were discovered during a multi-million dollar dredging project by the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District.
Unusual items are said to be discovered often, but never has anyone found this many golf balls in a lake. The nearby golf course, Shaker Heights Country Club is said to be the source of the balls as an adjacent creek to the lake comes into play on a few of the holes, not to mention the lake hadn’t been dredged since the 1970s.
That’s a lot of penalties!
