In what has come as a shock to many, TaylorMade have announced that they ill not be attending the PGA Merchandise Show for 2019. TaylorMade often creates hype around their attendance, showcasing new product with extravagant exhibitions at the event. During the 2017 show, TM even announced that Tiger Woods had signed on, so to state that they aren’t going to be in attendance next year may be cause for concern.
TaylorMade’s CEO, David Abeles had this to say in regards to the decision:
“After conversations with TaylorMade Professional Staff members and key leaders within the golf industry, we will be investing into growth initiatives that we believe will create even greater value for the game of golf. As a result of our additional spend, we have decided not to attend the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show.”
“While this may be disappointing to some, we hope that you appreciate our excitement to expand our partnership in new ways.”
This is a huge loss for the show but don’t fear, there will be plenty of products and exhibitions on offer for fans. Watch this space.
