After opening with a 4-under opening round 68 Spieth had started positively at the Valero Open as he chases his first PGA Tour victory since 2017.
Events were unfolding much the same on Friday when Spieth made the turn at 2-under for the day. That was until he reached the 8th hole, his 17th where Spieth holed a wedge from just outside 110 yards to catapult him into a tie for the lead.
Unfortunately for Spieth, Kim came along and 1 upped him making an ace to start the weekend 4 shots clear at the top.
