Traditionalism in a clubhouse seems to be on its way out as more and more exclusive high-roller clubs design and create extravagant and modern clubhouses that rival few; Liberty National which hosted the President’s Cup being one of them, as shown below.
But this new clubhouse at Palm Desert’s Bighorn Golf Club in California takes extravagance to a new level. Seriously, this thing is incredible. The club boasts two of the best courses in California, both ranked within the top 30 (you have to remember California is one of the most competitive areas in the U.S. for golfing destinations). This new clubhouse wasn’t cheap either, coming in at an unbelievable $70 million!
The new clubhouse features four “penthouses,” ranging in size between 5,200 and 6,800 square feet, to be used by members and their guests. Built 1,000 feet above the bottom of the valley, the 80,000-square-foot clubhouse boasts stunning views and also includes interior and exterior travertine walls that were imported from Portugal and floors made with limestone imported from Peru. You can see the club really didn’t leave any stone unturned as it forged a clubhouse worthy for the ages.
Outdoor and indoor spaces also create perfect room for private parties to be hosted throughout the year by members and their guests, and by “spaces” I mean enough room for a music festival to be held. Want to know the most ridiculous thing about all of this? It was constructed in only 16 months!
