Henrik Stenson announced via Twitter that he’s withdrawing from this week’s Scottish Open due to elbow problems but stated that he is “hoping to be fit for Carnoustie”.
Sad to have to withdraw from #ASIScottishOpen due to elbow problems. Good luck to everyone at Gullane & have great week. Hoping to be fit for Carnoustie.

At the last Major, the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills, Stenson finished tied for 6th and is currently a favourite to take out this year’s Open Championship. It would be a great shame to see Stenson miss this year, especially given his form for this season, having missed just one cut and positioning himself in the top 10 five times. Let’s hope he’s back to his best ability for The Open.
