Bucket List – Ballyneal

The opening motto on the Ballyneal webpage states: ” We appreciate and respect the traditions, the camaraderie and the challenge of golf.” And this is exactly what is reflected in the Tom Doak designed layout. Ballyneal is a private golf resort located in the high plains of Eastern Colorado near Holyoke.

The course offers stunning views and an inland golfing experience that pays tribute to links courses of Scotland and Ireland. A truly special and golfing adventure, Ballyneal provides players with a course that is both challenging and naturally beautiful. Often referred to as a “minimalist masterpiece”, the course is set upon thousands of acres of sand dunes that define a course crafted by nature, rather than forcibly placed upon the environment.

Ballyneal offers golfers the chance to prove their worth, as each hole must be tackled with a wise mind and strong heart. Challenging fairways and greens engulfed by rolling dunes make the course something spectacular to behold and a joy to play. A true “thinking” course.

The 7th at Ballyneal is rated as one of the best holes in golf in the world, as shown below.

As you can see, the rest of the course is just as spectacular.
